How on earth can i gain work experience if they wont give me the opportunity?

Hello! I have been looking for a job since i graduated high school in '08. its 2011, im 21 years old & i have never had a job. ive never even been called back for an interview! at this point ill do anything. & ive applied for everything. I have no money & my family is really struggling right now. I constantly call employers. i feel like a crazy ex girlfriend lol but they all tell me the same thing. How on earth can i gain work experience if they wont give me the opportunity? I have volunteered at 5 different places. should i continue volunteering? ive tried campus jobs but they only hire asians for some reason (fact!) My friends say its especially difficult for black women & beacause my actual name is what some would call "ghetto" they look past my application. Well i refuse to believe that company's are racist. What should I do?
